Oven Repair

The oven is one of those appliances that can easily get neglected when it comes to cleaning. However, if you don’t clean it often, you can end up with grime and grease buildup. That’s why it’s important to clean it as often as possible, and here are some tips and ideas to help you get started.

Use baking soda

Baking soda is a great solution for removing grease and it works extremely well. Here are the steps you should follow:

What you need to do is to create a thick paste with 75% baking soda and 25% water in a cup. You can add some essential oils to this mixture as needed.

Remove the oven racks, put them aside and then spread the baking soda over the oven’s interior. Try to avoid the glass door and the heating elements.

You can leave the mixture sit for the night, add some rags at the bottom just in case there is any kind of dripping.

The next day you can remove grease from the interior using a plastic scrapper. Wipe the paste away, and in case the grease was not removed, you can repeat the process again.

Using detergent to clean the racks

You want to avoid cleaning the racks with any harsh cleaners, instead you can use a mild cleaner. The idea here is to add the racks in a container with warm water. Ensure that they are covered with warm water and clean the racks with a scouring pad. In case there is some grime that’s hard to remove, then you can use some baking soda paste. Dry them and only them can you put them back into the oven.

Water and lemon cleaning

Another method you can use for cleaning the oven would be the water and lemon method. You can take the baking tray, you fill it with an inch of water and add the juice from a lemon there. Place that at the center of your oven, then turn it to medium heat and leave it there for an hour. The steam will soften grim and that will help the cleaning process. Dry the interior with a rag/towel when done and you will be good to go.

Clean the oven door with vinegar

A lot of people use baking soda for cleaning the oven’s interior, but using it for the outside of the oven can be very problematic. That’s why it makes a lot of sense to use vinegar. Create a mixture of water and vinegar (equal parts) and then insert it in a spray bottle. All you have to do is to spray it and then wipe it off using a soft cloth.

These cleaning methods are great if you want to remove dust, dirt or grime from your oven. It’s a very good idea to keep in mind, and you will be impressed with the results and the process itself. There will always be challenges when it comes to cleaning your oven, but these simple methods can help make the entire process a lot easier than expected.
